Farm Time

This past weekend we spent some family time at the farm. It was so fun, games were played, wienies were roasted, horses were petted, and tractors and four-wheelers were ridden. Jordan kept Lucas laughing and Gigi pulling her hair out. :)

Driving the tractor with my big cousin Jordan.

Hanging out with Gigi and Papaw.

Watch out horses here I come... Lucas walked right up to the horses, no sense of fear and he moo-ed at them, it was too cute.

Luke pretty much threw a fit anytime one of the boys took off on a four-wheeler without him.

The wienie roast with the whole family.
It was cold earlier in the day but we all managed to gather around the fire and warm up and eat us a good old fashion roasted hot dog...except Amy who doesn't eat wienies and substituted Cheetos.

We played lots of games, some "slap jacks", "gold fish" and "Cooties" with Jordan, "keep the cards out of your mouth" with Luke and some "cribbage" after the kids hit the sack.

I just thought these were cute and wanted to include them.
Lucas stood by the door as often as he could just waiting on someone to open the door so he could sneak out.

Anden came to visit

Miss Anden came to visit Lucas and I last week, Jennifer had a daytime commiment and finally let Anden come and stay with us!! Of course after Jennifer sees this blog and the way my child behaved...not to mention the red high heels...this first time might have been the last.

Lucas has certian toys that he occasionally plays with and some he rarely plays with...until Anden wanted to play with it. It was hilarious to watch how he behaved and also seeing Anden's reaction, always smiling.

Anden is just happy to be here...check out the look on Luke's face.

He makes his move, Anden is not giving up the fight.

He takes posession, she is still hanging in and making this a team toy.

Anden is still smiling after the battle!

Lucas gave Anden a kiss in apolgy for being a turkey.

Oh yeah and the red high heels!

Craft Time

Two baby showers recently have kept the right side of my brain very active..creatively. One girl and one boy, the girls are always easiest to design for..just add flowers and butterflies and you're golden, boys are a little more of a challenge. Anyway here are my most recent creations (distorted the names for confidentiality).

Our Friend Barrett

We had a wonderful time at the McIntire's house while celebrating Barrett's first birthday. Barret is just three months younger than Lucas so you'd think it wouldn't be a big deal that he is already a year old...but wow what a quick year for this little boy.
Lucas is prepping for the party and drawing a birthday card for Barrett.
Yes, Barrett might outweigh Lucas but Luke can still take him... okay maybe he is just giving him an awkward hug.
Barrett was a little hesitant at first when it came cupcake time but he eventually squished it to pieces and managed to eat a little too.

Luke got one of theses push cars for Christmas from his Grammy and he loves it, we are hoping Barrett enjoys his car just as much.

We happen to have Luke's car with us so we got great pictures of the two boys cruising together.
We always have a great time in Q-Town with the McIntires but it is especially fun to celebrate the birthday of one of our favorite little boys. We love you Barrett.

Asleep at the table.

I've seen it on "America's Funniest Home Videos" and maybe some funny pictures that get forwarded in emails but I never imagined I'd see it happen with my kid...who hates to sleep and loves to eat.
Lucas recently started taking one nap, it has been slow going and a cranky struggle but we made it...or at least I thought we had.
He is reaching for apples with eyes closed
Eating the apples with eyes closed
Couldn't go another moment and zonked out.
I loved that i was able to capture this on camera.

Lunch with Anden

This Wednesday Lucas and I had lunch with our friends Jenny and Anden. It was so cute when they spotted each other. It's like they know that their mommies refer to them as best friends and so they act accordingly. Big smiles and waves, of course it doesn't hurt that Anden is such a cutie, Luke and I can't resist smiling.

This is serious business here!

Here is Luke FINALLY signing "more", he such a communicator now that he caught onto these signs I've been showing him for 9 months!!!

We look forward to more lunch "dates" with our friends!

Benefit Dinner for Jaden McBride

Join us Tuesday March 3rd
Dickey's Barbecue Rockwall, Texas
5-8 p.m.
Click on the flyer to enlarge for details

I'm posting a prayer on behalf of The McBride family in Kentucky. Jaden is home but due to go back soon for another surgery. He’ll be one year old in a month and it has been a tough year for him and his Mommy and Daddy, four brain surgeries and one going on two heart surgeries. It is so very hard to go into details about his medical problems so I ask that you all continue to pray for God’s healing hands and the strength of this family. I would also ask that you pray for the success of the benefit being held in his honor on Tuesday March 3rd. Some of our very best friends, The McIntires, have been blogging about Jaden and the McBride Family, please visit their site for more details on this precious baby and also more details on the benefit coming up. http://mcintire4.blogspot.com/

Craft Project

Not a lot going on in the Duncan house recently. It’s been cold so we’ve stayed inside; Ryan and Lucas are going stir crazy, if you know my two boys you know that is not surprising. I ,however, was out today for a baby shower...so fun. It is always awesome to be a part…even a small part, of something so special. I loved being pregnant and I love being a mommy so it is great to chat and share stories with others. I don’t have recent pictures of Luke to share but I have opted to post some pictures of the gift I created for the mommy-to-be.

These are the baby’s initials and a few detailed pictures(I blurred the baby's name so it may look wierd).
Let me know what you think…

My mom crafted some for Lucas and gave them to me at my baby shower, needless to say I loved them. Since then every baby shower I’ve gone to I have made them. I really enjoy doing so and wouldn’t mind doing them for others as well… Do you think I could sell them, do you think people would be interested in buying them? I don’t know just throwing ideas out there...I'm for hire.

I also customized some burp cloths, bibs and a couple of blankets for her…didn’t get pictures. :( But the mommy-to-be seemed to really like them and so I guess I’ll continue to embroider and create for the special babies…well maybe for the mommies because we all know the babies could care less what they spit up on. :)

My New Friend Chuck

Monday was a fun day for the Duncan Family. On top of being Mommy’s Birthday we got to enjoy the wonderful world of Chuck E. Cheese. Ryan’s sister and brother invited us to join them and the cousins.

Oh Chuck E. Cheese, fond memories I have as a child spending time at your games and in front of your stage as you and your other mechanical friends stiffly perform the birthday song.

In the eyes of a child this is the ultimate joy zone, in the eyes of this parent it is the ultimate place to toss cash at average pizza, short rides and old school games, not to mention you can walk away with a cheap toy and possibly a communicable disease of some sort. With that being said we had a GREAT time! Luke had so much fun going from one ride to another, back and forth, climbing and crawling up on things, and watching the big kids play…lets not forget the face stuffing with Pizza.

One of Luke's Favorites was the little TowTruck
This Tella Tubby Ride turn small half circles but ooohhh the buttons to push!

"Come on Stuart, you're safe with me"
The Monster Truck was a big hit with all the cousins.

Of Course we can't forget the big kids

Fun for all, Thank you to the cousins and Aunts and Uncles for inviting us along, it was a blast to see this thru Luke's eyes.

We're Back

Okay so maybe I shouldn’t have started the blog until I was settled in our new place…it has kind of stalled my promise of consistency. The office is organized and I feel as though I can work or blog comfortably.

The disaster
(tell me it wouldn't be hard to work in here)

Luke helping get things in order…
